Dec. 1--Cash-and-carry store operator Siam Makro Plc has acquired Siam Food Services Co (SFS), a leading provider of premium food products to restaurants and hotels, from Swiss-owned DKSH group, better known locally for its Diethelm subsidiaries, for 230 million baht.
The transaction is expected to close on Jan 1 following approval from Siam Makro shareholders, who will meet on Dec 29.
The accord gives further impetus to Siam Makro's strategy to expand its food service business, especially supplying hotels, restaurants and food chains directly.
