Dec. 1--The 21st Thailand International Motor Expo opened yesterday with 37 brands on display and some 1.6 million visitors expected to attend the 12-day event at Impact Muang Thong Thani.

Kwanchai Paphasphong, chairman of expo organiser Inter-Media Consultant Co, said 20,000 vehicle bookings worth about 25 billion baht were also projected at the event, the largest in Asean and the second largest in the region after the Tokyo Motor Show.

Mitsubishi Motors Thailand Co will put its new concept vehicle, the Eclipse, which features a V6 hybrid engine, on display.

Siam Nissan Automobile Co's booth will feature its new X-Trail compact sport utility ...
