2004 DEC 3 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- Iowa will receive about 74,000 more does of flu vaccine through January, the Iowa Department of Public Health announced November 9, 2004.
This is in addition to the 450,000 does already received in the state this year, Spokesman Kevin Teale said.
Teale said the health department is reviewing the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) plan to coordinate its implementation in Iowa. These additional doses of influenza vaccine will help public health to meet the needs of high risk populations but will not necessarily meet all vaccine needs, Teale said.
