2004 NOV 22 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- Administration of an investigational vaccine reduced incidence of new persistent human papillomavirus (HPV) 16 infection and related cervical precancer by more than 90% in a study of women aged 16-23 who were HPV-naive at enrollment, researchers reported.
The data were presented in a late breaker presentation at the 44th Interscience Conference on Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy (ICAAC) Annual Meeting in Washington DC, on November 1, 2004.
