Nov. 18--Three years ago, the Surgeon General's Office issued America's schools a "call to action."
You, the surgeon general told educators, can play a key role in helping to prevent and decrease obesity among today's youth. In the report, the surgeon general spoke about overweight kids.
And although critics say not enough is being done, many districts are focusing on providing healthy food options in their cafeterias and on teaching children the skills they need to live an active, healthy lifestyle.
