Thanks for proving to my wife there's a reason I never throw anything away. Here's a photo of the commemorative Bog T-shirt I bought at the Glen in the '70s. It's an embarrassing, but historically accurate, piece of graphic art.

Bog blogs
Regarding the Nov. 1 story on the 1974 USGP at Watkins Glen ("A Bus, the Bog and Racing''): The Bog started simply because it was a low spot in the infield and too wet to pitch a tent. People would ride dirt bikes and 4x4s through the mud to pass the time (along with partying) between action on the track. Year after year, the Bog took on a life of its own. But the year of the bus was different. Things went way out of control and it was a scene I'll never forget.
Pete Small, Clarence, N.Y.
The Bog was alive and well beyond the "last straw'' bus incident. I attended the Glen's F1 races in '77, '78 and '79, and saw Bogladytes burning cars and even a small motor home. I'm glad to hear the Bog is now a parking area. Good riddance.
