Compass Retail Inc., parent company of Plaza Carolina, is considering the possibility of expanding the 1 million square- foot shopping center. Preliminary plans include the addition of a fourth anchor tenant to the mall. Compass Retail has been holding talks with a major U.S. retail chain about becoming an anchor tenant.

According to Jaime Nazario, general manager of Plaza Carolina, the possibility of expanding the mall is still under consideration by the parent company, which is expected to issue a final decision before the end of the year.
