While my C32 was no slouch, the C55 improves upon it in every way. The suspension and steering are tighter, the interior improved in quality and function. The exterior looks great; 18-inch wheels, sleeker CLK-like front end and trunk spoiler all serve to make the C55 look more distinct from other C-Class models. The V8 completely transforms the driving experience. It makes an awesome sound and provides great torque and acceleration.

The C55 is a beautiful automobile with many easy-to-master controls. But whoever designed the SpeedShift automatic transmission should have his head examined. It's great for manual shifting, and the controls on the steering wheel are convenient, but the buttons on the back of the steering wheel override the master control. It's easy to accidentally hit the downshift button and put the car in manual mode when making a turn.
