Nov. 7--Credit scores have never been more important to consumer finances.
And now that credit scores are used more and more by everybody from insurers to creditors, the need to maintain an acceptable ranking has become crucial.
"There's so much you can lose," said Kay Bidwell-Aronowitz, assistant director of the Menasha-based Financial Information & Service Center.
"Thirty five percent of a score is based on payment history. So the big thing is paying on time in full with checks that don't bounce," she said.
