Nov. 5--National carrier Thai Airways International Plc (THAI) will enhance its cost saving programme next year to deal with soaring fuel prices.

President Kanok Abhiradee said that the airline had saved 1.2 billion baht in the year to Sept 30 due to its cost-saving programme.

For this fiscal year, Mr Kanok has directed the airline's budget department to become more cautious in its expenditures.

At the same time, the airline plans to launch eight new promotional campaigns to attract passengers and drive sales next year.

Mr Kanok said the airline would pay 4.25 months as its annual bonus this year, up from four months last year.
