Nov. 5--Instead of hurting Thai industries directly, bilateral free trade agreements will highlight areas where structural adjustments are needed to improve competitiveness, according to Narongchai Akrasanee.
Dr Narongchai, a former commerce minister and head of a government working group examining the impact of FTAs, said the areas in which Thailand needed to improve included the dairy, finance and agricultural sectors and issues related to intellectual property.
