Nov. 5--Taiwanese beverage giant Uni-President hopes to create a new beverage segment in Thailand with the introduction of a fruit juice-based "casual sports drink".

The new drink, dubbed "iFirm", is anticipated to lure potential drinkers away from existing sports drink brands like Sponsor and Gatorade.

The Unif "iFirm" line is made from fruit juice concentrate with added L-Carnitine, a natural substance found in red meat which assists in the fat metabolisation process.
