Nov. 4--The International Monetary Fund has recommended that Thailand accelerate structural and legal reforms to help close existing weaknesses in the Thai economy and reduce inflationary pressures in the future.
IMF officials met with Naris Chaiyasoot, the director-general of the Fiscal Policy Office, yesterday at the Finance Ministry to discuss the results of the country's annual consultations with the fund.
Dr Naris said the IMF recommended that Thailand should take advantage of current growth momentum to address ongoing structural weaknesses to help ensure sustainable growth.
