Thailand to issue 10 million baht worth of Asian bonds.

Nov. 4--Thailand plans to launch some 10 billion baht worth of Asian bonds by the end of the year in support of a region-wide initiative to strengthen bond markets.
Pongpanu Svetarunvra, a deputy director-general of the Fiscal Policy Office, said non-residents purchasing the bonds would be exempted from local tax liability.
Authorities have approved the issue of 30 billion baht worth of bonds for sale to local and foreign investors under the Asia bond initiative. Funds raised from the first lot of 10 billion baht would be used to refinance the liabilities of the Financial Institutions Development Fund.
