I have searched everywhere for which way the fan blades turn for downdraft and which way for updraft. No luck. I found several articles that recommend one way for winter and the opposite way for summer but not which is which. I have two Homestead fans and tried to call them but can't get through. Can you advise me?

The reason that the answer to your question is not in widespread circulation--pun intended--is that it depends on which way the blades are sloped. Let's say I'm standing underneath a ceiling fan looking up at one of the blades. If the right-hand side of that blade is tilted downward and the left-hand side is tilted upward, then spinning the blade in a clockwise direction (as viewed from below) will tend to push air upward. This is the desired air flow direction in winter, as it tends to destratify air in the room without causing direct wind chill on ...
