Nov. 3--More and more consumers are turning to chewing gum that offers the added benefit of preventing tooth decay, a trend that has tripled sales for such brands while growth for sugar-free varieties remains flat. As further evidence, the market for traditional sugar-coated products has shrunk by 3 percent.
According to Thai Lotte Co, part of the Japanese confectionery group Lotte Co, Thailand's chewing gum market, estimated to be worth 1.64 billion baht this year, is expected to grow to 1.71 billion baht next year.
