Fossils fuel Spencer Lucas, who gets downright giddy to teach, talk or learn about 'the big leagues of history'

Spencer Lucas has a warehouse-sized library with no books in it.

Instead, it has something far more addictive to the scientist's hyperactive and seemingly endless curiosity the state's collection of fossils.

Lucas, 49, the paleontology curator at the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science, can't stop pointing at various fossils and telling stories as he strolls through the massive collection. He seems to know a lot about each sample which is not …
