RealClear Politics' 3-way poll avg. shrank to a 1.2% Bush lead from 2.6% Fri. Neither man held a decisive grip on the 270 electoral votes needed. Candidates Crisscross Key States
2A last dash to win over swing voters took Bush to 5 battleground states and Kerry to 4. Bush pronounced himself "energized" by the campaign and expressed confidence he'll win. Kerry urged voters to "do your job in the next 24 hours" and send Bush packing. An unprecedented number of voters, including nearly 2 mil in Fla., have already had cast their ballots in early voting in 32 states.
Crude Falls To $50 Before Vote
3Dec. oil futures fell $1.63 to $50.13 a barrel after sinking as low as $49.30 on election uncertainty. Crude rose to $52.50 early on fears that new Nigeria strikes may affect output. Russia levied fresh tax claims on oil giant Yukos. U.S. retail gasoline prices rose 0.2 cent to $2.034 a gallon. The New York Merc began open-outcry trading in Dublin, taking on London's IPE.
