Nov. 2--The country's inflation rate as measured by the Consumer Price Index fell slightly last month to 3.5 percent year-on-year from 3.6 percent in September.
Inflation averaged 2.6 percent annually from January to October, according to Karun Kittisataporn, the permanent secretary of the Commerce Ministry.
He said core inflation, which excludes food and energy costs, was 0.6 percent in October, unchanged from the previous month.
Inflation in October was relatively high, driven by non-food items, notably oil and power. The non-food index rose 0.3 percent from September and 3.3 percent year-on-year.
