Techs ended flat Friday in cautious trade ahead of Tuesday's presidential election. The Nasdaq and large-cap Nasdaq 100 each edged down less than a point. For the week, the composite index gained 3.1% while marking four-month highs.
Micros Systems soared 7.02 to 59.12 on the year's heaviest trade. The maker of hospitality management hardware and software trounced first-quarter profit views by 17 cents a share and hiked its 2005 forecast. It sees full-year revenue of $535 million-$540 million vs. consensus estimates of $528.9 million. The stock hit a 4 1/2-year high.
Park-Ohio Holdings jumped 1.59 to 20.84 on brisk trade to clear a tight monthlong trading range. The engineered products maker posted 36 cents a share in third-quarter profit vs. just a penny a year earlier. Revenue growth accelerated the past four quarters from -7% to 37%. It said the recently acquired Amcast Components Group has been integrated with its aluminum division.
Internet Security Systems surged 1.50 to 21.78 on triple normal trade. The security software maker followed through on Tuesday's breakout to mark a 21-month high. The stock's A Accumulation/Distribution Rating ...
