Stress Can Lead To Memory Loss
Stress that's out of a person's control activates an enzyme in the brain called Protein Kinase C and can lead to short-term memory loss, says a study in the journal Science. PKC also is linked to schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, where stress triggers episodes.
Aetna Enjoys Strong 3rd Quarter
Third-quarter earnings shot up 38% from the prior year to $1.75 a share at insurer Aetna, following enrollment growth of 131,000 members to 13.6 million. Revenue rose 13% to $5.04 billion. The Hartford, Conn.-based company's stock increased around 14% for the week.
