The U.S. Army Missile Command recently awarded Raytheon Co. a $124.3 million contract to produce additional Patriot missiles. The contract is worth about $43 million to Martin Marietta's Missile Group in Orlando, a subcontract for the Patriot.
The contract calls for the delivery of 180 missiles and associated support items between October 1994 and June 1995.
Martin Marietta Electronics, Information and Missiles Group also is putting together a proposal to develop Improved Target Acquisition System sights designed to enhance the antitank capability of the U.S. Army's rapid deployment division. The sights will be attached to antitank missile launchers mounted on the Army's High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles.
