2004 NOV 4 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- Power3 Medical Products, Inc. (OTCBB: PWRM) announced institutional review board (IRB) approval from New York University Medical Center to begin the clinical validation studies on the company's NAF Test for the early detection of breast cancer.
This is part of a three-site clinical validation trial being conducted by Power3. NYU Medical Center and Principle Investigator, Dr. David Fishman, in collaboration with Dr. Ira L. Goldknopf, chief scientific officer and the scientific team at Power3 Medical, have agreed to begin the trials with the company's NAF Test which analyzes fluid from the breast milk ducts, called nipple aspirate fluid to monitor groups of breast cancer related protein biomarkers.
Fishman is a world-renowned expert in gynecologic oncology who has helped to advance the understanding of how ovarian cancer spreads. For the past 5 years, he has been director of the U.S. National Cancer Institute's (NCI) National Ovarian Cancer Early Detection Program.
