Beginning with this issue. John F. McManus no longer appears on our masthead as "Publisher." John has embarked on a new chapter in his life. Because he has played a key leadership role with THE NEW AMERICAN from its inception, we are pleased to recognize his ongoing contribution with the honorary title of "Publisher Emeritus."
John McManus helped launch this magazine in 1985 as its original Managing Editor. He became its Publisher in 1989. Throughout THE NEW AMERICA'S history, John has contributed innumerable articles and has positively influenced the magazine in myriad ways.
As valuable as John's many years of service have been to this publication, he is undoubtedly best known for his leadership role in The John Birch Society, of which this magazine is an affiliate. He ...
