Oct. 24--Not even four hurricanes can blow away Florida's hot housing market.
So, realty agents say, if you're hoping to find a bargain in areas affected by Hurricanes Charley, Frances, Ivan and Jeanne, forget it.
Housing prices statewide are rising because demand remains strong and the supply is even more limited. Few owners appear to be bailing out of damaged homes, and others are making repairs in hopes of asking for more money.
"I'm already starting to see higher prices," said Carmen Pappa, president of the St. Lucie Association of Realtors. "I'm dealing with buyers who think because we had a second hurricane here they can get a lower price. But that's not happening."
