Lakewood Ranch senior Patrick Barnes is the most recent example of how fierce the football passion runs in his family.
In fact, if pain and suffering are the prerequisites for becoming a linebacker, as many football fans claim, then Barnes, his father and uncle have more than paid their dues.
All three played linebacker and overcame medical obstacles that would have kept most people on the sidelines. Barnes leaped a litany of hurdles before suiting up for the Mustangs.
