If you glance at our Paris show coverage (starting on page 24), you'll see the Mercedes-Benz CLS55 AMG garnered serious consideration for our Best in Show Editors' Choice award. With good reason, considering AMG boss Hubertus Troska considers this super-tuned version of the 2006 CLS500 nothing less than "the new Hammer.'' You might recall the Hammer, the 180-mph 300E introduced in 1986 that raised awareness worldwide of AMG's sports cars. It set the standard for every AMG to follow.
