There are plenty of new sports cars on the market for 2005, and readers are all over the map on which they would choose for their garage.
I wouldn't trade my Lotus Elise for all the tea in China. The Elise is a street-legal race car that achieves its performance through innovation and a lightweight purist design. It may not be the fastest car on the market, but it certainly offers the best driving experience.

I would love a Subaru STi, but in San Remo Red. It's significant because of its performance value, practicality and above all, reliability. On the other hand, a new C6 would be great now that the Camaro is gone.

In my garage would be the new Porsche 997 for the everyday commute, a Lotus Elise for the requisite track days, and a Ferrari F430 for throwin' it down on the weekends. I think I'm going to need a larger garage.
