USTI NAD LABEM, North Bohemia, Oct 8 (CTK) - Usti nad Labem will give the elephant calf, which came into the world stillborn this July, to Prague's National Museum, Usti Mayor Petr Gandalovic has told CTK, referring to the municipal council's decision today.
Some time ago, National Museum's zoological department head Jiri Moravec told CTK that the museum has no elephant calf in its collection for the time being. The gift would markedly enrich the collection and raise its value, Moravec said.
He said the calf's skin could be prepared for stuffing by the end of the year.
