Jan. 7--Krung Thai Bank may reduce its par value in order to write off its accumulated losses before listing on the Stock Exchange of Thailand.
M.R. Pridiyathorn Devakula, the governor of the Bank of Thailand, said that the board of the Financial Institutions Development Bank (FIDF) had asked Krung Thai's management to study privatisation options and propose one that would most benefit the bank.
After privatisation and listing on the SET, the bank might reduce its par value in order to write off its accumulated losses. The change of par value would also boost the volume of the bank's shares traded in the market.
