Jan. 4--Angel Air, Thailand's second national carrier, has become the latest victim of the travel slowdown and will suspend all passenger services beginning on Sunday.
It said the suspension would be "temporary" until lower-cost aircraft could be found to replace the Airbus A300-600R now in use.
"The airline will stop providing services to all routes until it can reduce operational costs, particularly on the aircraft lease," CEO Somchai Bencharongkul said in a statement yesterday.
Angel Air now leases the 274-seat Airbus from China Northern Airlines.
