Jan. 3--Thailand posed 1.6 percent inflation last year, less than anticipated, according to the Internal Trade Department which projects inflation of between 1.8 percent and 2 percent this year, in line with economic growth of 2 percent.
The index in December rose by 0.8 percent year-on-year, but was 0.3 percent down from November because of lower prices of farm items, particularly fragrant rice and fresh produce.
