Jan. 3--Pop-up comic books and other cardboard products are not only creating fun for children but also cash for their producers.

SNP Sirivatana Co, one of only two producers in Thailand, makes pop-up books in Chanthaburi. In times of peak demand, especially before Christmas and New Year, the firm can make one million a month.

The company, founded in 1994, has spent US$30 million on its business and has three million baht in registered capital. Today SNP is 87 percent owned by Singapore's National Printer Corp, with the balance held by a Thai partner, Pornthep Samutydeekun.
