Jan. 1--For almost 60 years Singha (lion) ruled the local beer market. But now Chang (elephant) is firmly in control after a decade of marketing.
Chang, made by liquor tycoon Charoen Sirivadhanabhakdi, claims at least a 60 percent share of the local beer market while Singha's share has slipped to 30 percent from more than 90 percent.
