Feb. 4--An increase in competition has prompted Union Frozen Products Co, a seafood producer and exporter, to focus more on upmarket products with the American retail market, particularly supermarkets, the prime sales channel.
Given the rapid growth in competition in the world seafood market in the past three or four years, companies could no longer rely on exporting only raw materials, said managing director Thongchai Tavanapong, explaining the switch in focus.
