Feb. 2--Only three candidates have applied for the presidency of the Telephone Organisation of Thailand. Applications opened on Jan 21 but all three contenders filed their papers yesterday, the last day for submissions.

Two unidentified outside candidates had applied, while TOT executive vice-president Aran Permpiboon was the choice of his colleagues to seek the position, according to a TOT source.

The incumbent president, Sutham Malila, did not apply because he is scheduled to retire at the end of September. Mr Sutham had been tipped earlier as the strongest candidate to head the TOT after it was corporatised and ...
