Feb. 5--Industry Minister Suriya Juengrungruangkij yesterday lashed out at Opposition members for alleging that he would benefit from the Board of Investment's relaxed conditions for investors in the automobile sector.

He admitted that he had a small interest in the auto parts company run by his relatives, but said the company did relatively little business with Toyota compared with Mitsubishi, General Motors, Isuzu and the export market.

Even if Toyota did not relocate its pickup truck and parts base to Thailand, his family's Thai Summit Group already had plans to invest to expand parts production, Mr Suriya said.
