Feb. 5--Low interest rates have helped fuel growth in the mutual fund industry, as investors seek higher returns from equities and bonds.
Institutional investors, such as state agencies, insurance firms and charity organisations, now command interest rates as low as 0.25 percent annually on deposits, leading fund managers to look to mutual funds to raise returns.
Adisorn Sermchaiwong, chief executive at BoA Asset Management, said his firm expected total assets under management to rise by 25 percent to 25 billion baht by the end of the year.
