Feb. 6--Kao, a Japanese manufacturer of consumer products, will boost its promotion and marketing spending in Thailand by 42 percent, with the main goal of lifting its brand image for hair- and skin-care products.
Sales growth is projected at 5 percent this year, according to Shinichiro Hiramine, the president of Kao Commercial (Thailand) Co.
The company plans to spend about one billion baht on promotions this year, up from 700 million baht last year, to lift turnover to six billion baht, from 5.7 billion baht last year.
