Mar. 1--GE Elano Asia, an affiliate of the global conglomerate General Electric, yesterday announced plans to invest more than three billion baht over the next eight years in Thailand to set up Asia's largest aerospace tubing, ducting and components manufacturing and servicing facility.

The facility will be located at the Eastern Seaboard Industrial Estate in Rayong.

John Grosvenor, managing director of GE Elano Asia, said the facility would serve as a centre for servicing airlines and provide overhaul facilities for carriers in Japan, Korea, Taiwan, China, Malaysia, Australia and New Zealand.
