Apr. 5--Nationwide Life Assurance Co aims to earn two billion baht from policy sales this year, based on first-quarter premiums of 330 million baht, double those for the same period last year.
If the growth rate was maintained for the full year, income would surpass an earlier projection of 1.5 billion baht, said Soontorn Boonsai, the company's president.
He attributed the growth to the change in status of its sales agents to full-time instead of part-time. Half of the 7,000 agents are working full-time.
A new commission system called "unity bonus", which rewards agents who perform well, also contributed to the expansion.
