Apr. 4--Robert Zoellick, the US Trade Representative, will meet Thai ministers today to discuss trade issues, potentially leading to a future bilateral free-trade agreement.
Mr Zoellick is in Bangkok for talks with Thai and other Asean trade ministers. He is expected to hold talks with Finance Minister Somkid Jatusripitak and Commerce Minister Adisai Bodharamik.
Darryl Johnson, the US ambassador to Thailand, said Mr Zoellick would discuss a number of trade-related issues.
"[The United States] has always been interested in free trade. The freer, the better. But the devil is in the details," he said.
