Apr. 3--China, the world's largest textile exporter, aims to become one of the strongest players in the industry, according to Qian Feng, the vice-president of the China Worldbest Group.
Backing that claim locally, the group has previously announced plans to invest US$117 million in Thailand to build four factories.
These consist of a cotton yarn mill with an annual production capacity of 60,000 yarn spindles; a spinning mill producing 4,000 tonnes of yarn; a household textile plant with capacity of 15 million metres of yarn; and a citric acid unit with capacity of 30,000 tonnes. Most of the output will be exported.
