Apr. 3--Thailand is in for a "hair-raising" experience if professionals in the beauty industry have their way.
They want to raise the standards of hairdressers by setting up a certified training curriculum and zoning registered salons.
The Beauty Association of Thailand would ask the Public Health Ministry to support the proposals, with the aim of bringing more local hairdressers up to international standard, said Vichai Bingoree, the association's president.
A standard curriculum for hairdressers and barbers is used in Australia, China and many other countries in the region.
