May 6--Key countries around the world will be targeted as regional hubs for the development of Thailand's global trade and investment.

The countries are the United States, Canada and Mexico; Panama for Central America; Barbados for the Caribbean; and Peru, Chile, Brazil, Argentina and Venezuela for South America. Australia and New Zealand are targeted in the South Pacific.

Sweden and Finland are gateways to northern Europe; Poland, Hungary and the Czech Republic in central Europe; and Russia and Ukraine in eastern Europe.

Other targets are Armenia in the Caucasus; Bulgaria and Yugoslavia in the Balkans; and Estonia in the Baltic states.
