May 2--Bahrain has agreed to be a springboard for exports of Thai products to the Middle East.
A memorandum had been signed for Bahrain to serve as a gateway to the region, Commerce Minister Adisai Bodharamik said after talking with Prime Minister Sheikh Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and Commerce and Industry Minister Ali Saleh Al Salem in Bahrain this week.
A Thai trade centre will be established in Bahrain to distribute products to the six member states of the Gulf Co-operation Council, which also includes Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
