Samsung Electronics Plans Relocation of Appliance Production to Thailand.

Jun. 5--Thai Samsung Electronics Co has earmarked US$45 million or 1.9 billion baht for the relocation of its production of microwave ovens and large refrigerators to Thailand from South Korea.
Of the total, $30 million would pay for production of microwave ovens and $15 million would be spent on making new models of refrigerators with capacities of more than 300 litres, said Somchai Masrungsun, the company's director.
The company's Si Racha plant in Chon Buri now focuses on making four key products: washing machines, small and medium-sized refrigerators, colour televisions and air-conditioners.
