Jun. 3--Rubber exporters expect big losses from their forward deals because market prices have moved up sharply amid a shortage of the commodity.
Choositt Ophaswongse, the honorary president of the Thai Rubber Association, said many traders had difficulty acquiring rubber to fill orders.
Many of the forward deals had been made without hedging and were at prices of around US$730 a ton, but the cost of buying rubber had surged to $755.
