Jun. 1--The National Energy Policy Office (Nepo) will freeze the fuel tariff in power bills until the end of September to avert any negative impact on the economy.

A Nepo executive, who declined to be named, said the variable charge, which appears as Ft on power bills, was to have been increased by eight satang a unit in line with energy cost.

Of the postponed increase, five satang was attributed to higher prices of natural gas and oil. The remaining three satang was postponed from the previous Ft revision period during February to May.
