2004 OCT 7 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- Massie Laboratories, Inc., announced that its wide-field pediatric retinal imaging systems, the RetCam product family, are now being used in 32 countries.
RetCam II, the company's newest system, is a self-contained, mobile unit that provides state-of-the-art imaging of premature babies and young children.
The latest country to benefit from RetCam II is New Zealand, and there are now nearly 300 RetCam systems deployed throughout the world, providing Neonatal Intensive Care Units and Pediatric departments with an invaluable tool in the quest for earlier detection of retinopathy of prematurity, the documentation of shaken baby syndrome, retinoblastoma, and numerous other pathologies of the visual system.
